Stephen (Steve) Gerakopulos began his career in robotic automation and machine/tool integration. His journey from completing an apprenticeship at Automated Tooling Systems (ATS) to exploring the family trade in flooring marked the beginning of his entrepreneurial path. Steve’s transition from a contractor with a modest setup to a successful house flipper taught him valuable lessons about the real estate market and the challenges of scaling a business.
Steve’s career evolved as he transitioned into sales, working with Hudson Energy to sell commercial energy packages. His natural aptitude for sales quickly became evident, and he achieved top national producer status. Despite his success in sales, Steve realized that his true passion lay in real estate.
In recent years, Steve has excelled in roles with prominent international commercial real estate firms such as Avison Young, Cushman Wakefield (formerly DTZ), and Coldwell Banker Commercial. His achievements include managing industrial real estate transactions exceeding $400 million in the Waterloo/Wellington/Oxford regions. Steve’s expertise spans acquisition, disposition, leasing, and asset management.
In August 2019, Steve founded Securecap Alliance Corp (SAC) with a focus on property investment and management. As of March 2024, Steve transitioned from his role in organized real estate to concentrate fully on SAC. Under his leadership, SAC is positioned as a well-capitalized, family-managed investment group with a vision for continued growth. Steve, alongside his wife Amy and their two energetic sons, is deeply involved in the day-to-day operations of SAC. For Steve, the work is driven by his passion for real estate and his dedication to securing a prosperous future for his family.
